WickRight Flat Roof Vent (also known as a Low-Slope Roof in the construction industry) allows the interstitial space beneath the plywood roof deck to exhaust condensation, and redirects moisture intrusion from the masonry wall to the exterior, away from the roof system.


This passive ventilation significantly extends the life of roofing materials and structural components and allows wet truss ends embedded in masonry pockets to dry. 


Unfortunately, some trusses may be damaged beyond saving and need to be replaced.

If your project smells funky, have everyone wear respirators to avoid inhaling dangerous mold spores.

Approximately 75% of the rotted trusses can be saved. When trusses are embedded in masonry pockets, its important to prevent moisture intrusion. Most of the trusses embedded in wet masonry wall pockets that we have uncovered, were candidates for truss reinforcement and did not need to be replaced.

Our construction division, WickRight General Contracting, removes mortar and spray foam insulation from trusses, then apply, a combination moldicide/hardener/sealer, to the damaged portions. If necessary they "sister" trusses with plywood to add strength according to the instructions of licensed structural engineers.  And finally, they install our reinforcement brackets shown below.
